Recognise the challenge

What is holding your business back?

When everyday problems take time away from running your business, the first step is to identify what needs attention. Do any of these sound familiar?

  • Cash-flow pressure

Delayed collections and uncertain cash forecasts make it difficult to plan payments and working capital.

  • Funding needs

Your growth plans need a clearer funding proposal, reliable projections and supporting documents.

  • Unreliable MIS & P&L

Constantly revised reports due to accounting errors, missed accruals/provisions, and gaps in procedures, approval controls and reporting timelines.

  • Disconnected systems

Separate software, repeated data entry and manual spreadsheets slow your team and create avoidable errors.

  • Compliance gaps

Missed deadlines, incomplete records and unclear responsibilities leave important requirements unattended.

  • Team capability gaps

Your finance team needs additional skills, clearer responsibilities or experienced guidance as the business grows.

From challenges to action

How we help you take control

Understand what is going wrong, address the underlying gaps and give your team a clear way forward.

  1. Find the root cause

Review your numbers, processes and systems to identify the causes of reporting errors, cash-flow pressure and delays. Agree what needs attention first.

  2. Put the basics right

Strengthen accounting, accruals and provisions. Set clear procedures, approval limits, reporting deadlines and team responsibilities.

  3. Keep progress on track

Review MIS, cash flow and agreed actions regularly. Track deadlines, resolve exceptions and help your team maintain consistent working practices.

Start with one priority or agree a broader programme of support.

Clarity throughout the engagement

What you can expect from an engagement

Know what will be done, who is responsible and how progress will be shared—from the initial agreement to the handover.

  • Agreed deliverables

A documented scope sets out the work, expected outputs and timelines. Proposed changes are discussed and agreed with you.

  • Clear ownership

Defined responsibilities show who prepares, reviews and approves each key item—including the inputs needed from your team.

  • Progress updates

Updates at agreed intervals cover completed work, upcoming milestones, pending decisions and matters that need your attention.

  • Practical handover

Receive the agreed reports, working documents and guidance, with an explanation of their use and any remaining actions for your team.

Deliverables, review frequency and handover requirements are tailored to the agreed scope of your project or ongoing advisory engagement.

Your questions answered

Before we start

What to share, how we work with your team and how you stay involved as the work progresses.

What information should we share initially?

Start with a brief description of your business, the issue you want to address and any important deadlines. You do not need to prepare a complete set of financial documents for the first enquiry.

After the initial discussion, we will identify the information needed for the proposed work and agree how it should be shared. You can begin through our Contact page.

Can you help if our accounts or MIS are incomplete?

Yes. We can first review the available records and identify gaps, inconsistencies and missing information. This may include accounting errors, reconciliations, accruals, provisions and reporting procedures.

We then agree the corrective work, priorities and inputs needed from your team before proceeding.

Will you work with our accountant, CA or existing advisers?

Yes. We can work alongside your accountant, Chartered Accountant, internal finance team and other advisers. Responsibilities, information requirements and approval points are agreed so the work is coordinated.

Can we start with one urgent issue?

Yes. We can scope an engagement around one priority, such as unreliable reports, a funding requirement or a delayed finance process. Timelines depend on the work involved and the availability of information.

Any wider support can be discussed separately once the initial requirement is understood.

How will we review and approve the proposed solution?

Once the engagement begins, we use review points appropriate to the agreed scope:

  1. Understand the current situation (AS-IS): assess the relevant records, processes and issues.
  2. Confirm our understanding: share the findings with you for review, corrections and confirmation.
  3. Define the future approach (TO-BE): propose the changes, responsibilities and intended outputs for your review and approval.
  4. Implement and deliver: carry out the agreed work and hand over the solution, documentation and guidance.
  5. Review for gaps: check the delivery against the agreed requirements and record any remaining actions.

Any additional work outside the agreed scope is discussed with you before proceeding.
